Federer is Betterer
Switzerland is known for many wonderful luxurious things, such as Lindt chocolate truffles, fine cheeses, beautiful snow-capped mountains, and Roger Federer. Federer is arguably the best tennis player in history. He is known for his elegance and class both on the court and off. For most of his career, Roger was sponsored by some high-class products such as Nike, Rolex, Wilson, Mercedes-Benz, Lindt and most recently ONRunning with whom he is a business partner. SportsKhabri’s sports website states, “Federer is an all-court, all-around player best known for his speed, fluid style of play and exceptional shot-making” (Saha, 2023). This statement best expresses how well-rounded and disciplined Federer’s tennis is and begins to explain why he is considered one of the best. He is an accomplished athlete who originated from humble beginnings as a ball kid. To date, and probably forever as he is retired from the game he has had a multitude of achievements “Throughout his career, not only has Federer won 20 Grand Slam titles, but he has also been served countless Guinness World Records titles, of which he still holds 30.” (Atwal, 2022). He is best known for his multitude of wins on different surfaces in many other countries, but his favourite and most well-known wins have occurred on the lush green surfaces of Wimbledon. It is at Wimbledon where Roger set the majority of his longstanding records “Federer was the first man in tennis history to win 100 matches at a single Grand Slam event when he did it at Wimbledon in 2019—he then did it at the Australian Open in 2020.” (Berkok, 2022). Roger Federer is the most successful, and inspirational tennis player to date. He plays with class and elegance all while helping and volunteering to those less fortunate. He is the way all tennis players and athletes should aspire to be.
